    Kathleen M. Adams is a cultural anthropologist whose research centers on critical tourism studies, heritage, arts, museums, globalization, and the socio-political dimensions of physical mobility. She also has a long-standing research interest in identity negotiation and the cultural aspects of nation-building in multicultural societies. Her current research centers on the intersections between migration and heritage tourism. Much of her long-term research has been in insular Southeast Asia (Indonesia). She has also conducted research in Singapore and California.
