Dr. Jennifer J. Griffin is the Raymond C. Baumhart, S.J. Professor of Business Ethics and Professor of Strategy at Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago (Chicago, IL). She examines how to craft ethical, organization-wide strategies that innovatively address critical social impacts – in short, how firms can treat people with dignity and decency while doing well.
Griffin is the award-winning author of the Academy of Management SIM Division Best Book Award, Managing Corporate Impacts: Co-Creating Value, published by Cambridge University Press. Numerous research awards include the ‘Best Paper in 20-years Award’ on corporate social responsibility. Her papers are published across multiple disciplines: Public Administration Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society, Group & Organization Management, Journal of Management Studies, Corporate Reputation Review, Journal of Public Affairs, among others.
An internationally recognized educator, Jenn has earned the Teaching Excellence Award, MBA Teaching Award, and was nominated by students for the National Inspire Integrity Award as well as Loyola’s highest teaching award, St. Ignatius of Loyola Excellence in Teaching Award. Griffin is engaged at all levels of learning (e.g. executive, doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate including online, hybrid, in-person and experiential learning study abroad courses). For more than two decades she leads annual social impact and strategy-oriented CSR workshops for Australian and US executives as well as periodically in Chili, Brazil, India and Lebanon.
A member of Chicago’s Corporation Coalition, past president of the Social Issues in Management (SIM) Division of the Academy of Management, and an elected Fellow of the International Association of Business & Society (IABS), Jenn and her husband are certified (currently, inactive) Commonwealth of Virginia firefighters. They enjoy good conversations and making great food with their two adult sons and their partners.
