    Hi, I’m George K. Thiruvathukal.

    My disciplinary research interests in computer science include parallel and distributed computing; software engineering; computer systems; programming languages; and artificial intelligence/machine learning with a focus on energy-efficient methods (e.g. embedded computer vision).
     
    My interdisciplinary interests include computational science; data science and data engineering; digital humanities and arts; and history of computing, science, and technology.
     
    I'm particularly motivated to apply my work toward social good through all of the above. For more information, see my home page and/or the Software and Systems Laboratory.

    I have published books with MIT Press, Prentice Hall, and Taylor & Francis/CRC Press. My first book was published in the Java Series and is one of the prior works related to Java Concurrency Utilities (JSR-166).
