About
Chris Donner joined the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Loyola University Chicago as an assistant professor in August 2015. Prior to his appointment, he was an assistant professor at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. Dr. Donner's main research interests are focused in American law enforcement, specifically in police misconduct. He has secondary interests in online offending and the U.S. Supreme Court. Dr. Donner has worked on several funded research projects, and he worked closely with policing scholars and practitioners to produce translational research. He is currently working on a focused deterrence project with the City of Rockford, IL. Before pursuing his doctorate, he worked in the criminal justice field for two years as a Pre-Trial Officer for the Hamilton County (OH) Municipal Court. Dr. Donner is a member of the American Society of Criminology, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, and the Midwest Criminal Justice Association. His recent work has been published in multiple peer-review journal outlets, such as the Journal of Criminal Justice, Police Quarterly, Victims & Offenders, Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies & Management, and Criminal Justice & Behavior.
